It Starts With You

Who would you point to if you had to pick one person in Hollywood to teach your son how to dress?

It’s hard.

There are plenty of good-looking guys in Hollywood, and handsome guys tend to look good in clothes, but if you have a stylist choose your outfits, you’ll never be well dressed.

Today, men own more clothing than at any time in history. All the retail and online stores, all the interest, all the high-quality apparel about, yet fewer guys are killing it.

So how do we solve this conundrum?

The challenge lies in getting the correct information to men at a personal, individual level.

But honestly, that’s not something our culture is set up to do.

The good news is it’s much easier to dress well, to master the art of “permanent fashion” than is represented.

Times have changed, but dressing well doesn’t equal formal.

Dressing well equals fit and proportion. The proportion will dictate the longevity of your clothes. When fashion turns, and the skinny suit is no longer the bee’s knees, you could be out of style quickly.

But if your clothing fits well and the proportions are good - right size shoulders, a collar that shapes your face, slim but not skinny pants, longevity will be won.

The point in all of this is you need to start with yourself. To learn your proportions, what your brand is, and how you want to present yourself to the world.

The idea that heavy people, short people, skinny people, or tall can’t dress well - or that you need to look like a model - is an absolute fallacy.

Learning to dress well is ultimately like anything else.

If you wish to do it well, you have to learn how.

It starts with you.

Want to make this year your most stylish yet - I can help.
