The Best Value In The Shop

I wanted to touch base on something real quick when it comes to the products you find in retail shops and their price.

When they carry a more expensive product, the owner may be lowering their margin to keep it affordable.

They most likely just really love the piece and feel it would be a disservice to not offer it.  Even if the shop owner is taking a less percentage than normal.
A good case in point is our offering of the Loro Piana Rain system fabric that we make coats out of.

I love it so much and when I work out what my margin should be, the price creeps pretty high and would be a barrier for a lot of people.

This is an item I love and want my customers to have.  So I price that product at a lower rate, one that I feel should work with my client base.

It is still a reach for some.

The takeaway?

The most expensive item in a store is often the best value.

As always, buy better - buy less.
